Marsh will miss his third straight contest due to an ongoing right knee issue. The 27-year-old outfielder is off to an abysmal start this season, batting .095 (4-for-42) with one homer and five RBI in 17 games. It’ll be Johan Rojas in center field on Saturday afternoon.

It’s unusual to see Marsh sitting against an opposing right-hander, but perhaps it’s just the Phillies’ way of easing him back into full-time action following his return from the injured list. Johan Rojas will start in his place in center field and bat ninth against Luis L. Ortiz on Sunday evening.

The final score suggests that Suárez had some cushion tonight, but it was just a 1-0 game through seven. The Phillies then scored six runs off Jakob Junis and Joey Cantillo in the eighth before the Guardians finally got a run in the bottom of the ninth. Suárez allowed just four hard-hit balls, three of which checked in at 96-97 mph, and walked only one. He had a rough season debut Sunday against the D-backs, but he figures to be a pretty solid mixed-league option going forward. He’ll face the Pirates next.

Carter is now 6-for-21 (.273) since being promoted, with one home run and one stolen base. He has just one extra-base hit and has been sitting against lefties, but it’s a solid start for the 22-year-old, who has enough upside to be scooped up in most formats
