Brett Baty

Brett Baty hit two homers to drive in all five Mets runs in Saturday’s loss to the Cubs.
No Help for Baty: The Story of the 2025 Mets. Baty also homered Friday. He’s started three games in a row after sitting out the first two following his recall Monday. There’s a pretty good argument for giving him a real look at this point, and it doesn’t have to be wholly at Mark Vientos’s expense with Jesse Winker on the IL. He wouldn’t be a bad bench stash in mixed leagues.

Tylor Megill

Tylor Megill lost to the Cubs after allowing four runs in 4 2/3 innings Saturday.
Megill struck out seven tonight, but the contact against him was pretty hard and he gave up runs in three of the first four innings. The loss leaves him 3-3 with a 3.10 ERA, and while we’d use him in mixed leagues most weeks right now, a road start in Yankee Stadium makes him a weak play next week.
Mark Vientos

Mark Vientos is at DH and batting fifth on Saturday against the Cubs.
The interesting wrinkle here is that the Mets are rolling with Brett Baty at the hot corner for the third straight game over Vientos. The 25-year-old has managed to turn things around following a disastrous start to the year, but he’s still not making a significant impact for fantasy purposes.

Mets RHP prospect Nolan McLean recorded seven strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Friday for Triple-A Syracuse.
McLean turned in an extremely impressive Triple-A debut with his four-seam, cutter and sweeper mix generated 10 swinging strikes and he recorded an elite 36 percent CSW. The 23-year-old former third-round pick is one of the fastest-rising pitching prospects in the fantasy landscape this season, reaching the doorstep of the majors after posting a 1.37 ERA and 30/12 K/BB ratio across 26 1/3 innings (five starts) to open the year at Double-A Binghamton. The sweeper is a true above-average offering and gives him a real shot at success in the majors. There’s a chance he’s ready to pitch in New York at some point in the second half.

Colt Keith is at first base and batting third on Saturday against the Rangers.
Keith has batted third against right-handed starters over the last handful of games for Detroit and he’s been productive, hitting .375 (9-for-24) with three homers and seven RBI over his last seven games. The 23-year-old former top prospect struggled mightily in April, but he’s really picked it up since the calendar flipped over to May.

Gabriel Arias is batting second on Saturday against the Phillies.
Arias has been red-hot at the plate recently, hitting .375 (9-for-24) over his last seven games. The 25-year-old lacks prototypical middle-of-the-order power, but the Guardians are going to give him a shot hitting ahead of José Ramírez, Carlos Santana and Kyle Manzardo, which is undoubtedly a positive for his fantasy value. He’s eligible at multiple positions — second base, shortstop and third base — and is available in the vast majority of fantasy leagues.
