Tovar told MLB.com’s Thomas Harding on Monday that he’s feeling better, but has only progressed to jogging as he works his way back from a left hip contusion that put him on the injured list back on April 19. He’ll need to advance to sprinting and running the bases at full speed before he’s cleared for a rehab assignment.

Goodman gave the Rockies a 3-0 lead with his homer off Bryce Elder in the first inning. The 25-year-old has five homers and an OPS of .827 over his 90 at-bats, and he should continue to hit in the middle of the Colorado lineup. That’s not exactly the highest compliment, but it’s something.

Feltner was scratched from Sunday’s start because of tightness in his back, and it’s possible it was still bothering him during the struggles. It’s also possible he struggled because he’s Ryan Feltner. He walked one and struck out four in a start that was ineffective from the third inning on. He’ll take a 4.75 ERA into a schedule bout against the Padres. Steer clear.

Rockies general manager Bill Schmidt told reporters Bryant’s visit with orthopedic spine surgeon Dr. Robert Watkins will determine the next steps in his rehabilitation process. The 33-year-old was diagnosed earlier this month with lumbar degenerative disease and will have to manage the ongoing issue for the remainder of his playing career. There is no timetable for his return at the moment.

Peña finds himself in the leadoff spot for the second consecutive contest with Jose Altuve hitting second after sitting out Sunday’s series finale against Kansas City. The Houston Chronicle’s Matt Kawahara notes it’s the first time Altuve hasn’t led off since June 17, 2023. Peña, who has moved around between several lineup spots this season, is hitting .255 (25-for-98) with three homers and five steals through 27 games.

Turner got the Phillies on the board in the third inning with an RBI single off of Jameson Taillon that plated Bryson Stott. He then strolled to the dish with the bases loaded and one out in the 10th inning, and hit a slow roller to third base that he beat out at first to bring in another run. With his three-hit attack, the 31-year-old infielder is now slashing .262/.345/.330 on the season with just one homer, nine RBI and six stolen bases.

Perdomo’s homer was his only hit, but he had an RBI groundout in the first and he swiped second and third after reaching on a fielder’s choice in the seventh. One of the year’s nicest fantasy surprises, he has four homers, 21 RBI and six steals through 28 games. However, he still figures to return to the bottom of the Arizona lineup after Ketel Marte is activated, which will likely cost him much of his fantasy value.
