Josh Smith is also out of the lineup nursing a thumb contusion. Burger takes a seat with Ezequiel Duran taking over at the cold corner in his absence. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. The 29-year-old slugger has gotten off to an ice-cold start at the dish this season, batting .151 (8-for-53) with two homers and seven RBI through 15 games.

Jung took a fifth-inning pitch from Beau Brieske and hit it 392 feet at 107.4 mph for his fifth home run of the season. He also struck out twice, which has been a bit of an issue for him, and the 27-year-old is just 7-for-35 (.200) so far in May. With Jake Burger rumored to be on his way back to the big leagues, Jung will need to keep hitting to prevent himself from losing some starts to Josh Smith.

Carter is now 6-for-21 (.273) since being promoted, with one home run and one stolen base. He has just one extra-base hit and has been sitting against lefties, but it’s a solid start for the 22-year-old, who has enough upside to be scooped up in most formats

The veteran struck out seven and walked one, while posting a 30 percent whiff rate and 31 percent CSW on the day. Eovaldi’s curveball was the star of the afternoon, with a 56 percent whiff rate and 42 percent CSW. The Tigers never really threatened him on the day, and he should be fired up in all leagues against the Astros next week.

The 35-year-old slugger opened the scoring in the contest with a run-scoring double off of Zac Gallen in the opening inning. He tacked on a run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning and then clobbered a 405-foot solo shot off of Joe Mantiply in the seventh inning that extended the Dodgers’ advantage to 5-0. He has been absolutely sizzling at the dish this season, slashing .376/.437/.734 with nine homers and 33 RBI. The only thing that he hasn’t done from a fantasy perspective is run, with zero stolen bases in one attempt.

It didn’t necessarily have anything to do with his exit, but Kurtz was checked on by the trainer today after jamming his glove hand into Orlando Cabrera’s body on a play at first base. His three at-bats before leaving produced two groundouts and a strikeout.

Walker is quietly 20-for-65 (.307) with two home runs and 11 RBI over his last 17 games. Of course, he was hitting .156 with two home runs and four RBI in the first 21 games of the season. Still, it appears the Astros’ big free agent acquisition is finally starting to figure it out at the plate after an injury derailed his spring training and slow start to the season.
