The turnaround has to start somewhere. Perhaps a series in Sacramento helps. Burger led off the sixth inning with a solo homer off Osvaldo Bido for his third homer of the season and first since April 5. He also drew a walk in the contest. The 29-year-old slugger is batting .186/.230/.343 with the three homers and nine RBI across 74 plate appearances. Burger has always had a streaky profile, so hopefully Tuesday’s effort will get him going at the plate.

After two days off for maintenance, Seager came out and hit a 403-foot homer off Jack Flaherty in his first at-bat tonight. He later added a 393-foot shot off Tyler Holton in the seventh. The load management is annoying, but it might pay off in the end if Seager can play in 130 games this year for the first time since 2022.

The runs scored on solo homers from Kerry Carpenter in the first and Riley Greene in the fourth. The other three hits deGrom allowed were singles, and he walked only one. He wound up with 21 whiffs, 11 on the 40 fastballs he threw and 10 on 41 sliders. It’s his first 10-strikeout game since Tommy John. He’s won three starts in a row to move to 3-1 with a 2.72 ERA, and he’ll face the Astros next.

It also doubled his RBI count of the year. Pederson had been showing signs of pulling out of his slump over the last 10-14 days. It might not happen all at once now, but he’s certainly worth considering in 12-team and deeper leagues and in all leagues that count OBP instead of average.

It’s the first three-hit game of the year for Harper, who entered the night in an 11-for-63 slump. His 110.6-mph homer was the hardest-hit ball of the game, and his 107.5-mph lineout in the sixth was second on the list.

Olson took Andrew Heaney deep for a solo homer in the third inning for Atlanta’s second run of the game. It was still a 2-2 contest in the 11th inning when Olson started the inning on second base and scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch. The 31-year-old first baseman is hitting .221/.353/.407 with seven homers and 21 RBI across 170 plate appearances.

No, Roman Anthony isn’t being called up as the corresponding move. Gonzalez will require a couple extra days off after hurting his quad earlier this week when he collided with Rangers first baseman Josh Smith. It’ll be Abraham Toro and Nick Sogard filling the void at the cold corner for now.
