The 24-year-old right-hander walked three batters while striking out two in the ballgame. the only run that scored against him came as Owen Miller drove in a run with a fielder’s choice in the second inning. Montero has been the guy the Tigers rely on anytime they have a doubleheader or need to give their starters an extra day of rest, and so far that has led to him posting a 4.15 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and a 15/10 K/BB ratio over 21 2/3 innings in his first four starts. He should get another opportunity at some point in the next couple of weeks.

Moreno opened the scoring in a big way with a bases-loaded roundtripper off Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The 25-year-old had missed the previous game with side discomfort, but looked plenty comfortable while having easily his best offensive game of the 2025 season. Moreno was awful in April, and fantasy managers can hope this is the start of the backstop playing up to his abilities.

Baldwin laced a single into left to give Atlanta the walkoff win. The 24-year-old rookie has more than held his own with the bat in his first taste of action with .279/.343/.459 slash. There’s some value with Baldwin in two-catcher leagues even with Sean Murphy getting most of the playing time, but the true excitement comes in dynasty. He could be a stalwart in the coming years.

Moreno came off the bench during Wednesday’s game against the Mets, so it’s no surprise to see him back behind the dish for Thursday’s series opener. The 25-year-old backstop will bat sixth against Dodgers’ right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
