Kelenic has not been successful whatsoever to begin the 2025 campaign, and Atlanta will go with Eli White in the lineup even with right-hander Merrill Kelly on the bump for Arizona. Kelenic has shown glimpses of being a competent outfielder, but they have been too few and far between. Kinda sad.

The Braves got to Zac Gallen early in this one and later broke the game open against the Diamondbacks’ bullpen. Riley was in the middle of that rally against Gallen with a run-scoring single and then put a bow on their three-run eighth with another run-scoring single. He’s now riding a six-game hit streak over which he’s raised his batting average from .265 to .304. He remains a stalwart at third base who’s on track to put up All-Star caliber production.

This was better by Sale, but still not necessarily good. He just can’t seem to wrangle his slider which has made him very predictable all season. He threw just three of them total when behind in the count and literally only threw a fastball when he was in a two or three ball count and the hitter had fewer than two strikes. His velocity has fully rebounded though, which is a great sign he could go on a hot streak soon. It’s just frustrating he was spotted a three-run lead early and couldn’t make it past the fifth inning. Things won’t get easier for him either, as his next start is scheduled to come against the Rockies in Coors Field.

Fletcher, 30, tried to turn his career around by becoming a knuckleballer last year, but it didn’t take and he’s back as a position player this year. The Braves declined to invite him to major league spring training in the final year of his five-year, $26 million contract, and he opened up by going 2-for-22 at Double-A Columbus. A valuable infielder for the Angels from 2018-20, his career took a downturn in 2021, and he’s played in just 38 major league games since the beginning of 2023. He’s unlikely to add to that total anytime soon.

Noel entered the day with a .167/.200/.190 line in 45 plate appearances, which is why he’s only been playing a lefties. The Guardians could give him time over the struggling Carlos Santana if they want to get him going, but we’re not optimistic it will happen. The club isn’t slated to face any lefties for at least a week, so it could be right back to the bench for Noel.

Abreu was left standing in the on-deck circle in the ninth inning when Trevor Story – with the tying run at third base to end the contest. The -year-old outfielder took Guardians starter Ben Lively deep in the opening frame for his fifth round-tripper of the season. It wound up being his lone hit in three at-bats, although he did draw a walk in the contest. He’s an extremely underrated fantasy contributor at this stage of his career considering his immense power upside.
