Jesse Winker
NYM • DH • #
Jesse Winker is not in the lineup for Thursday’s bout against the Cardinals.
Andre Pallante is typically better against lefties than righties, so rather than Winker at DH, the Mets will have Starling Marte as the designated hitter. This platoon should continue for the foreseeable future, and it’s not great for either from a fantasy standpoint.

Francisco Lindor

Francisco Lindor went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-2 win over the Cubs on Sunday.
Lindor homered off Porter Hodge to break a 2-2 tie in the eighth inning. It was his ninth home run and 26th RBI of the year. He has been well worth his late-first, early-second-round draft price so far this season.
Mark Vientos

Mark Vientos went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a win over the Cubs on Sunday.
Vientos needed this one. With Brett Baty back up from Triple-A and hitting well, Vientos needed to incentivize the Mets to keep him in the lineup. He responded with his fifth home run and 17th RBI of the season. Vientos has continued to show strong plate discipline metrics all year and is getting good pitches to hit, but is simply not executing. With Luisangel Acuna also playing well and capable of playing third base, Vientos needs to take advantage of the favorable counts he’s been getting himself into if he wants to keep a full-time job.
Griffin Canning

Griffin Canning allowed one run on two hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Cubs on Sunday.
For those of you waiting for Canning to implode, you might be waiting a while. The 29-year-old struck out five and walked just one on the day, with his only run coming on a home run by Pete Crow-Armstrong. While Canning has had tons of success pitching backwards this season, he used his four-seam fastball more than any other pitch on the day, and it was his changeup that stole the show with a 45 percent whiff rate and 35 percent CSW. Leaning into secondary pitches has been really beneficial for Canning, who has a 2.36 ERA on the season. He may be a risky start next week against the Yankees, but it’s hard to bench him right now.

Ben Rice hit his first career grand slam and walked against the A’s on Sunday.
Rice’s homer off Mitch Spence made it a 10-1 game in the fifth. It was his first homer since he hit two on Apr. 29 and ninth overall. He’s been losing the occasional start because of the desire to include Trent Grisham in the Yankees lineup, but he should retain mixed-league value at least until Giancarlo Stanton returns.
Gunnar Henderson

Gunnar Henderson went 2-for-5 and clubbed a two-run homer on Sunday, powering the Orioles to a 7-3 victory over the Angels in Los Angeles.
The 23-year-old superstar shortstop led off the game with a double to center off of Tyler Anderson and scored on Adley Rutschman’s triple that Taylor Ward lost in the sun. Henderson then capped off a four-run uprising in the sixth inning with a 386-foot (104.7 mph EV) two-run shot off of Connor Brogdon that extended the Orioles’ advantage to 7-2. With his two-hit effort, Henderson is now hitting .264/.307/.473 with five homers, nine RBI and three stolen bases in his first 32 games on the season.
Christian Yelich

Christian Yelich went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a stolen base and a solo home run against the Rays on Sunday.
Yelich’s home run was his seventh of the year and it tied the score at one in the fourth inning. The 33-year-old outfielder is hitting just .208 with a .678 OPS this year, though he does have seven home runs, 26 RBI and eight stolen bases. Fantasy managers have to hang tight with Yelich and hope he turns his average around while providing solid numbers in the other categories.
