Luis Rengifo is not in the Angels’ starting lineup for Thursday evening’s showdown against the Blue Jays.

It appears to be just a routine night off for the versatile 28-year-old. Tim Anderson will draw another start at second base while Yoan Moncada mans the hot corner against Chris Bassitt and the Blue Jays on Thursday night.

    Taylor Ward

    Recap

Taylor Ward hit a two-run homer in a loss to the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Ward, 31, gave the Angels a 2-0 lead with a two-run homer off Chris Bassitt in the first inning. He’s now gone deep in two of his last three games, and it ‘improves’ his slash to .181/.224/.391. Ward has been one of the most hot/cold players players in the sport over the last few years, so fantasy managers who can afford to make some roster moves may want to look at Ward while the going is good.

    José Soriano

    Recap

José Soriano allowed three runs over five innings while not factoring in the decision Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Soriano left with a 4-3 lead, but it was erased quickly after his departure. The 26-year-old was not exactly dominant in his outing with eight hits allowed and four free passes, but he did strike out six to help balance things out a smidgen. Soriano takes an even ERA of 4.00 into a scheduled start against the Padres in San Diego on Tuesday. There should be better options for that one.

    Recap

Kyren Paris hit a two-run homer in Wednesday’s win for the Angels over the Blue Jays.

That’s the first homer for Paris since April 9 when he went deep twice against Tampa Bay and caused everyone to lose all sense of rational thought. The 23-year-old did also single and walk to improve his on-base percentage to .311, while the homer bumps his slugging mark to .378. There is long-term upside in Paris with flashes that suggest he can be a fantasy option. Fantasy managers should still absolutely looking elsewhere for options up the middle.

    Recap

Andy Ibáñez singled, doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Thursday as the Tigers crushed the Rockies in the first game of their twin bill.

The 32-year-old lefty-masher did his job in this one, roping a run-scoring double off of Kyle Freeland to open the scoring in the top half of the first inning. He also chipped in a sacrifice fly in the second that extended the Tigers’ advantage to 5-0. For the season, he’s now hitting .259/.339/.407 to go with two home runs and 12 RBI.

    Recap

Ryan McMahon went 4-for-4 with a two-run homer in an extra-inning loss to the Tigers on Wednesday.

McMahon gave the Rockies a 2-0 lead with a two-run blast in the first frame. The veteran infielder has struggled mightily for the majority of 2025, but a five-reach game does help him improve his OPS to .667. McMahon is by no means a start, but he’s too good of a player — and plays in too good of a park — to struggle this badly for much longer.

    Javier Báez

    Recap

Javier Báez drove in four runs while helping the Tigers to an 8-6 win over the Rockies in 10 innings Wednesday.

Báez remains hot, and his two-run single in the third inning tied the game at 5-5. It was his second two-run single of the game, and it ups his season total to 18. He also scored a run, and Báez is now slashing an excellent .313/.352/.475 in what has easily been his best season with the Tigers. That’s quite the understatement.
