Marte got two starts during his five-game stint as Matt McLain’s replacement on the Reds roster and went 1-for-6 with a steal. He was off to nice start in Triple-A, batting .353/.425/.529 in nine games, and if he can keep that up for a few more weeks, the Reds might be inclined to give him a real opportunity.

Greene induced 21 missed swings and topped his previous season high for strikeouts by four. His only previous 12-strikeout game came in 2023, when he fanned 14 in a loss to the Twins. Greene moved to 4-2 with a 2.53 ERA, and he’s in line to face the Braves next.

Pretty good for a player who just went 3-for-28 on his rehab assignment. Stephenson caught five times and DH’d four times on his rehab assignment, so he should be fine to start behind the plate on Saturday.

This game got out of hand quickly after Chase Petty coughed up nine runs in fewer than three innings in his major league debut. De La Cruz was still able to notch a few hits though and extend his hitting streak. While his full-season stat line doesn’t feel gaudy at the moment, he’s still on pace for 25 home runs, nearly 60 stolen bases, and 100 runs and RBI apiece.
