Gurriel underwent surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee back in September and is likely to be sidelined until at least the second half of next season. The 32-year-old corner outfielder finished last year slashing .248/.295/.418 with 19 homers, 80 RBI and a career-high 10 stolen bases in 546 plate appearances.

The 31-year-old outfielder is facing a 9-10 month recovery timeline, so he won’t be expected to be ready to help out the Diamondbacks until June or July of the 2026 season. He finishes the 2025 season slashing .248/.295/.418 with 19 homers, 80 RBI and a career-high 10 stolen bases in 546 plate appearances.

It’s the worst-possible outcome for Gurriel, who will obviously miss the rest of the current season and figures to be sidelined into 2026 as well. The 31-year-old outfielder suffered the injury on a non-contact play during Monday’s game against the Rangers whole trying to avoid a collision in left-center field with teammate Blaze Alexander, who was making his first-ever start in the outfield. There should be a definitive return timetable once he undergoes season-ending surgery.

The D-backs didn’t have a diagnosis for Gurriel’s injury after the game. He was hurt in the sixth inning against the Rangers as he tried to avoid a collision with Blaze Alexander in left-center. Alexander and Jake McCarthy are due for additional playing time while he’s out.

Gurriel was hurt while trying to avoid center fielder Blaze Alexander, who was in the process of making an excellent diving catch in left center. One imagines he’ll be out for quite some time, which will create more time for Alexander and Jake McCarthy in the outfield.

Gurriel receives his first day off since August 13. The 31-year-old slugger remains one of the more underrated contributors in the fantasy landscape as he’s putting together another excellent campaign with 19 homers, 80 RBI and a career-high 10 thefts through 127 contests.

Gurriel got the scoring started with an RBI single off of Andrew Abbott in the home half of the first inning and came around to score on an RBI double by Gabriel Moreno. He then swatted a 392-foot (98.0 mph EV) two-run shot in the third inning that increased the Diamondbacks’ lead to 5-0. He’s enjoying another solid season offensively, slashing .251/.298/.423 with 18 homers, 76 RBI and 10 stolen bases across 513 plate appearances.

Gurriel isn’t having one of his best seasons, but he’s had some big hits in 2025, including one today. His single up the middle drove in Corbin Carroll and gave the D-backs the win in the 11th. Gurriel now has 73 RBI on the season to go with a less-than-spectacular .249/.297/.416 slash.

Gurriel homered off Cade Smith to tie it. The D-backs then won in the 11th after a sac bunt and a little popup to shallow left from Adrian Del Castillo that probably would have been caught by the shortstop had the infield not been in with the winning run at third. Gurriel, who also knocked in a run in the first today, has four homers and 21 RBI in 18 games this month. It’s already his most RBI in a month since Apr. 2024, and he still has 10 games left to add to the total.

Gurriel gave the Diamondbacks an early cushion with a three-run shot in the first off Bradley Blalock. He’s now up to 10 steals in 2025, and the homer was his 15th. Gurriel has picked things up as of late, but the .244/.294/.406 slash leaves a lot to be desired in the majority of fantasy formats.

Gurriel also stole a base; his ninth of the season. The 31-year-old came up big with an RBI double off Jimmy Herget to give the Diamondbacks their second-straight win against the ever so awful Rockies. It’s a nice fantasy day for Gurriel, but he’s been pretty shaky for most of 2025 with a slash of .249/.294/.410 over the first 117 games of the year.

Gurriel put the Diamondbacks on the board in the bottom of the first inning, taking Yu Darvish deep for a two-run blast. He came up in a big spot later in the game. With the team down by two runs, he took Mason Miller deep, turning a 104 mph fastball around for a two-run blast to tie the game. After the two-homer game, the 31-year-old outfielder is up to 14 with 56 RBI while slashing .249/.296/.412 across 446 plate appearances.

Gurriel was robbed of a hit on a diving play in the outfield in the second inning on a 107 mph line drive. He then drove in two runs on a double in the fifth before adding a triple in the seventh and scoring. The 31-year-old outfielder is slashing .253/.300/.429 with 12 homers, 46 RBI, and seven steals across 353 plate appearances.

Gurriel drew a walk in the fourth inning and scored on a home run by Jake McCarthy. He then added a homer of his own, taking Carson Seymour deep for a two-run blast in the fifth, his second straight game with a homer. The 31-year-old outfielder is slashing .251/.299/.423 with 12 homers, 44 RBI, and seven steals over 335 plate appearances.

Gurriel doubled the Diamondbacks’ lead to 2-0 with a solo homer off Logan Webb. He’s now up to 11 on the season, and three of those roundtrippers came in the month of June. Gurriel’s slash of .250/.296/.414 isn’t awe-inspiring, but it’s important to note that his slash was a dismal .181/.204/.343 at the end of April.

Gurriel got off to a slow start to the season, but since May 1st, he’s hitting .307/.367/.497 with six home runs, 15 runs scored, and 23 RBI in four games. The 31-year-old has a $13 million player option after this season, so there’s a chance he tests the free agent market in the off-season. If the Diamondbacks think that’s a risk, they may look to trade Gurriel away at the deadline this year.

Gurriel took Logan Evans deep for a solo homer in the fourth inning, then singled to lead off the sixth before stealing second and scoring on a home run by Gabriel Moreno. The 31-year-old outfielder is having another solid all-around season in Arizona, hitting .258/.304/.446 with ten homers, 37 RBI and four steals across 263 plate appearances.

This was a slow night for both the Braves’ and Diamondbacks’ offenses. They scored three runs and had just one extra-base hit combined. Gurriel started that scoring off when he dunked a single into right-center field off Chris Sale and that was the only run either team scored until the ninth inning. He’s put together a fine season with eight home runs and a .731 OPS albeit with a .298 on-base percentage.

Gurriel got the Diamondbacks on the board first in this one with an RBI double off of Mitchell Parker in the opening inning. He then rode home on a two-run blast off the bat of Eugenio Suarez. As a team, the Diamondbacks had just three hits in the contest, but that’s all the offense they would need. On the season, the 31-year-old outfielder is now hitting .251/.291/.436 with eight homers, 33 RBI and three stolen bases.

Gurriel hammered a two-run shot to score Corbin Carroll and himself and give the Diamondbacks a 5-0 lead. He’s now up to 37 RBI on the season to go with eight homers, and it puts him on pace to reach the 100-RBI mark for the first time in his career. Those numbers are solid, but the .227 average and .271 on-base percentage certainly leave a bit to be desired.

All grand slams are big, but grand slams that tie the game are a little more special. That’s what Gurriel did with his bases-clearing roundtripper off Anthony Banda in the fifth inning. He also had a fielder’s choice drive in a run an inning earlier. Gurriel has gone deep seven times while slashing .213/.238/.418

After Gurriel went hitless in his last two games, he broke out with a three-hit effort against the Mets on Tuesday, including a two-run blast off David Peterson in the sixth inning to extend the Diamondbacks’ lead. The 31-year-old outfielder is up to six homers while hitting .219/.246/.422 with 20 RBI across 138 plate appearances.

The out was his loudest batted ball; he sent Johan Rojas to the wall in center field in a one-run game in the ninth, but Rojas made the catch and had the wind knocked out of him for his trouble. It still went as Gurriel’s first three-hit game of the season, pushing his average back over .200 for the first time in four weeks.

The Diamondbacks were mostly stifled by Brandon Waddell and the Mets’ bullpen in this one as Gurriel was the only member of their lineup to tally multiple hits. His ninth inning double set Arizona up to score some valuable insurance runs that proved vital after the Mets rallied in response, but fell just short. Still, Gurriel and his .181 batting average has put him in danger of losing his starting job.

The Diamondbacks entered the ninth inning trailing 4-0, but they were able to get to Joel Payamps and Trevor Megill for five runs in the bottom of the frame to get the win. Gurriel has now driven in eight runs, but has scuffled to a slash of .154/.179/.308 in 2025. He’ll assuredly get that line up in the coming days/weeks.
