Twins OF prospect Emmanuel Rodriguez was removed from Friday’s game for Triple-A St. Paul with a left thumb injury.

Rodriguez suffered the injury on a head-first slide into first base. The most encouraging takeaway is that it’s not the same thumb that he underwent surgery on back in 2024. The 23-year-old top prospect was on a tear recently with a two-homer performance earlier this week and figured to make it to Minnesota at some point this summer. There should be an update on his status at some point later this weekend after he undergoes imaging to determine the severity of the injury.
