Zak Kent is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Rochester on Friday to take the roster spot vacated by Gus Varland.

Kent, 28, has made four appearances with the Nationals this season, compiling a 6.35 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and a 5/0 K/BB ratio over 5 2/3 frames. He’ll add a fresh arm to a bullpen that has been taxed in recent days.
