Joe Ryan struggled over 5 1/3 innings while allowing five runs — four earned — in a loss to the Royals on Tuesday.

It’s another poor start for Ryan, who has really struggled since the All-Star break. The right-hander had a 2.85 before his deserved selection to that contest, and this poor outing sees that mark jump up to 3.65 on the season. He allowed seven hits, issued a pair of walks and struck out three in this lackluster — at best — effort. He’ll try and right the ship next weekend, but the Brewers present another challenge for Ryan.
