Twins placed RHP Joe Ryan on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to August 5, with a left glute strain.

As anticipated, Ryan lands on the injured list with the glute strain that he suffered his last time out. The Twins are hopeful that he’ll only need to miss a couple of weeks before rejoining the rotation. Zebby Matthews was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move on Friday to take his place for the time being.
