Cubs’ right-hander Jacob Webb (forearm) is hopeful that he’ll be able to avoid a trip to the injured list.

Webb was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Brewers after he was struck on the forearm by a line drive off the bat of Christian Yelich. Fortunately, he avoided any structural damage and is only dealing with a contusion and swelling. He’s considered day-to-day.
