Spoiling the shutout bid by taking Brad Keller deep in the ninth, Judge was the Yankees’ only offense today in the 5-2 loss. The one out he made was actually a 409-foot blast that would have been a homer in 24 ballparks. The actual homer was hit 388 feet to right. It was the 350th of his career, tying him with Chili Davis for 103rd place all-time. With two more, he’ll move into the top 100.

Fried was lifted from his final first-half start after allowing four runs — three earned — on 73 pitches (39 strikes) over three innings. He struck out two and also issued three walks. The 31-year-old fantasy ace will certainly benefit from next week’s All-Star break, but blister issues tend to be complicated matters and usually require rest before they can be truly resolved. The hope here for the Yankees and fantasy managers is that they managed to catch it before the issue became a greater concern. He’s made four trips to the injured list over the last eight years due to blister issues. There should be a definitive update on his status and outlook at some point later this weekend. We’ll have updates on the developing situation as it unfolds.

Goldschmidt will get a chance out of the leadoff spot during Saturday afternoon’s matinee at Yankee Stadium. The 37-year-old veteran hasn’t exactly set the fantasy landscape ablaze this season, but he’s been a stabilizing presence for New York as a platoon first baseman. Ben Rice is on the bench to open Saturday’s contest with veteran southpaw Matthew Boyd taking the ball for Chicago.

It’s the first time Acuña has been moved out of the leadoff spot since making his season debut back in late May. The move might lead to a decrease in stolen base opportunities, if it becomes permanent, but that would be offset by an uptick in RBI chances over the final two-plus months. It’ll be Jurickson Profar leading off on Saturday afternoon at Busch Stadium.

Fraley returns to Cincinnati’s crowded position player mix ahead of Saturday’s game against the Rockies after missing just over two weeks recovering from a shoulder strain. The 30-year-old on-base machine figures to play regularly against right-handed pitching in a platoon role.

The home run was No. 22 on the season for Soto. He crushed a solo home run off Taylor Clarke in the ninth inning. Soto was notably left out of this month’s All-Star game festivities despite rebounding in a major way after a slow start this year. He’s hitting .265 with a .910 OPS and 54 RBI this season.
