There weren’t a lot of positive takeaways for the Orioles during this one-sided affair, but Rutschman managed to sneak a towering blast over the right-field wall in the fourth inning for his eighth big fly of the season. Unfortunately, it represented the lone tally on the night for Baltimore as Ryan Pepiot twirled an impressive eight-inning gem.

It’s not what you want to see. Eflin was shelled for a staggering 12 hits, including a pair of home runs, as he gave up at least one run in each of his five frames of work. He struck out two and also issued a pair of walks. The unexpected implosion halts a three-start run where he had completed at least seven six innings and allowed three earned runs or fewer. He’ll attempt to rebound on Saturday when he faces the Yankees in a challenging road tilt.

Cowser is in left field and batting eighth on Monday night following a three-game absence stemming from a collision with the center-field wall during last Thursday’s showdown against the Tigers. The 25-year-old outfielder is hitting .219 (7-for-32) with two homers in nine games since returning from the injured list back on June 3.

Goodman has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise dismal campaign for the Rockies. His first-inning blast against Nationals starter Jake Irvin was his 12th big fly of the season and he also tacked on a clutch game-tying solo shot in the ninth inning off veteran closer Kyle Finnegan to notch his fourth career multi-homer performance. The 25-year-old catcher has gone deep six times already since June 1. He’s been one of the most impactful backstops in the fantasy landscape and has a realistic shot at eclipsing the lofty 30-homer plateau.

The one real unknown in this mega deal is Jose Bello. The 20-year-old right-hander was signed out of the Dominican Republic and has spent the past three seasons pitching in the lowest levels of the minor leagues. He has registered a 2.00 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and a 28/3 K/BB ratio over 18 innings for the Giants’ affiliate in the Arizona Complex League this season. He’s a very intriguing young arm but a long way from potentially helping out at the major league level.
