Sheehan represents an intriguing fantasy option in deeper mixed leagues given his prospect pedigree and backing by Los Angeles’ star-studded lineup. The 25-year-old former top pitching prospect will make his season debut on Wednesday night against the division-rival Padres. It’ll be his first start in the big leagues since the 2023 campaign after missing all of last season recovering from Tommy John surgery. He misses enough bats to forecast some fantasy relevance in deeper formats, but there’s some risk given the extended layoff and likely workload limitations.

Carter takes a seat with lefty Kris Bubic toeing the rubber for Kansas City in this one. The 22-year-old former top prospect has been on a roll over the past few weeks, hitting .293 (12-for-41) with three homers and three steals over his last 15 games. The Blue Jays will play short-handed with Straw and Jonatan Clase (knee) also out of the lineup. Straw’s ankle sprain will keep him out of action after leaving Tuesday’s game, and George Springer will get a start in the outfield in his absence.
