It sounds like the 26-year-old slugger is still going to be out for another couple of days, but it shouldn’t be anything long term. For what it’s worth, Paredes told reporters after the game that he feels close to 100 percent and should be considered day-to-day. It sounds like fantasy managers may have dodged a bullet on this one.

The good news is that while the Astros made a flurry of roster moves on Saturday, Paredes heading to the injured list was not one of them. He has shown significant improvement since exiting Thursday’s game due to a hamstring strain and is expected to rejoin the Astros’ lineup in another day or two. Mauricio Dubon will start in his place at the hot corner on Saturday.

Báez, who was out on the play, tried a swim move with his left shoulder and seemed to be in pain afterwards, but he came out for the fourth and finished the game, even as the Reds turned it into an 11-1 blowout. Odds are this will prove to be nothing, but it seemed worth a mention anyway. Báez went 0-for-3 with a walk in the contest.

The 25-year-old slugger has been sidelined since early June due to a right hamstring strain. He should only require a couple of games to get his timing back at the plate before he’s ready to rejoin the Mets. If all goes well, he could be ready to return at some point during next weekend’s series against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Clement was back at third base following an early exit from Wednesday’s contest with the Cardinals with a lower-body injury. It doesn’t appear to be a serious concern moving forward.
