The second single was a bunt by Nolan Gorman, putting the tying run on second base and the go-ahead run on first. Megill, though, fanned Jordan Walker, Victor Scott II and Masyn Winn afterwards. It’s the first time since April 2 that he’s struck out three in an inning.

Priester has been pitching for his rotation spot every time he’s taken the mound lately, but with wins in his last four appearances and Aaron Civale gone to Chicago, the matter seems to be settled for now. He’s allowed just six runs over 29 innings in his last five appearances, three of which were starts. (The other two saw him enter in the fourth after DL Hall worked the first three innings.) His peripherals still aren’t great, but they’re getting better; he’s fanned 10 and walked none in his last two starts after amassing a 36/26 K/BB in his first 55 2/3 innings. Priester will face the Twins next weekend.

Whether he’s ready or not, Anthony is Boston’s de factor face of the franchise in the wake of the club’s stunning decision to jettison slugger Rafael Devers to San Francisco on Sunday night. The 21-year-old prodigy has been moved up to the third spot for Monday’s series opener in Seattle after hitting fifth in four consecutive games to open his big-league career. It’s a significant development from a fantasy perspective as the move should lead to an uptick in run-producing opportunities as the Red Sox’ primary middle-of-the-order threat.

Judge had four three-strikeout games this season before these last two series against the Red Sox. He fanned three times once last weekend in Yankee Stadium and did so in all three games in Boston this this weekend. His average is down to .378, which is still incredible but is his lowest mark since April 15.
