Turang saw his 12-game hitting streak come to an end Thursday, but made up for it and then some with a big night Friday. The 25-year-old has excelled thus far in 2025 with a .328 average and .855 OPS. Fantasy managers would like to see the two-steal total shoot up, and that likely will happen based on the 50 he procured in 2024.

The last three earned runs came after Quintana intentionally plunked Willson Contreras in the fifth inning, and while it did sort of seem warranted, it might well have cost the Brewers the game, which they ended up losing by three runs. The goes as both Quintana’s shortest start and the most runs he’s allowed this season. He dropped to 4-2 with a 3.35 ERA ahead of a start against the Twins next weekend.

It was the third bullpen session that the 30-year-old southpaw has completed in his recovery from a left elbow flexor strain. He’s still at least a month away from potentially being an option to help out the Brewers’ rotation.

Mitchell and fellow rehabbing outfielder Blake Perkins (shin) have both been cleared to begin their rehab assignments. Mitchell has been sidelined since April 25 due to a strained oblique. Brewers’ skipper Pat Murphy told reporters earlier in the week that he anticipates both of them returning to the roster at some point in early July barring any setbacks.

As expected, Donovan makes his return to Sunday’s lineup following a four-game absence due to a left big toe sprain. The 28-year-old on-base machine is back at second base and leading off with Masyn Winn getting a rare day off. It’ll be Jose Barrero taking over at shortstop on Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee.

Donovan has missed four consecutive games with a sprained big toe, but a carbon-fiber orthotic in his shoe has helped to ease his toe pain. The 28-year-old will likely need some maintenance days, but it’s a positive development that he can get back on the field this weekend.
