Elder gave up eight hits, walked four and struck out two. The 26-year-old right-hander has allowed 18 earned runs in 10 2/3 innings over his last three starts. Elder now has a 5.82 ERA on the season, though his 3.86 xFIP suggests he hasn’t been quite that bad. Still, Elder is difficult to trust in all fantasy formats at the moment. He’s lined up to face the Angels at home next week if he remains in the rotation.

The Phillies are starting a tough left-hander in Jesus Luzardo on Saturday night, so it makes sense why the Braves would want to get Harris a breather. The 24-year-old outfielder has been one of the biggest disappointments in baseball this season, slashing a dreadful .212/.238/.320 with six homers, 43 RBI, 11 stolen bases and a 68/10 K/BB ratio over his first 326 plate appearances. Eli White will man center field in his absence on Saturday.

The Braves had to cover seven innings with their bullpen on Friday night after Bryce Elder’s two-inning disaster start, so Herget will join the bullpen on Saturday to provide a fresh arm that’s capable of working multiple innings. He can be ignored for fantasy purposes.

The Braves continue to shuttle Petersen back and forth from Triple-A anytime that they need a fresh arm for their bullpen. The 31-year-old hurler threw 61 pitches over 2 2/3 innings against the Phillies on Friday night, giving up one run on four hits and a pair of walks while striking out two. Unfortunately, that means he won’t be available for a couple of days so the Braves are sending him back out to get another arm active for Saturday’s contest. Petersen should get another opportunity with the big league club in relatively short order.
