It’s a massive relief that Mize is not hurt after experiencing some diminished velocity prior to leaving Sunday’s start in the sixth inning. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that he dealt with some cramping with temperatures in the 90’s and the heat index touching triple digits in Tampa Bay. The 28-year-old righty should be ready to take the ball on Saturday against the Twins.

The 25-year-old hurler threw 58 pitches his last time out at Triple-A Toledo on Thursday and they want him to be stretched out a bit more before jumping back into the big league rotation. Olson has been shelved since mid-May due to inflammation in his right ring finger. That means Keider Montero and Sawyer Gipson-Long should stick around for at least another week in the club’s rotation.

Pérez has been good since coming off the IL, slashing .296/.346/.648 in 22 games with six home runs and 13 RBI. Pérez has seen gains in his exit velocities and is pulling the ball in the air more than he did in his rookie season. With Matt Vierling sidelined, Pérez has become the regular right fielder for the Tigers and is worth adding in deeper formats.

Meadows has gotten off to a slow start this season, slashing .172/.262/.345 with two home runs and seven RBI. However, he did miss three months with a nerve issue in his arm, so some rust should be expected. He came into today with a 90.3 mph average exit velocity and 7.7 percent barrel rate with an above-average swinging strike rate and contact rate. His defense is going to keep him in the lineup, so we expect him to continue rounding into form. Don’t give up on him yet.
