Bellinger was inserted as a defensive replacement for Jasson Domínguez. He originally had the day off as the Yankees attempt to manage the back tightness he’s been experiencing since the beginning of the season.

Another scoreless start for Schmidt. He gave up three runs in the first against the Guardians on June 4, but that’s the only time in his last four outings that he’s been scored upon. Unfortunately, he went without any run support tonight, so he remained 3-3 with a 3.16 ERA through 11 starts. He’ll face the Orioles on Saturday.

The double, a hard grounder that went through third baseman Luis Rengifo, led off the bottom of the ninth in a scoreless ninth. Stanton was then removed for pinch-runner Jasson Domínguez, who was quickly retired on a grounder that reached Rengifo at third at basically the same time Domínguez did, resulting in a little collision and a great tag play from Rengifo. Stanton’s balls in play tonight were hit 101.5, 111.1 and 102.9 mph. He also struck out once.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters Cousins will undergo the season-ending procedure on Wednesday after being shut down from throwing last week with renewed elbow discomfort. It’s a definite hit to New York’s relief depth as Cousins compiled a sparkling 2.37 ERA across 38 innings (37 appearances) last year in his Yankees debut. He figures to miss most of the 2026 season as well, given the timing of the procedure.

Anthony isn’t in a rather strange Red Sox lineup tonight; Wilyer Abreu is sitting for a third straight game, this time against a right-hander. It suggests he’s either banged up or maybe in line for a demotion, though that would be surprising. The Red Sox have Ceddanne Rafaela in right field and Kristian Campbell in center tonight.

MassLive’s Chris Cotillo whispered it first, and it was soon confirmed by Worcester reporter Katie Morrison-O’Day, who caught Anthony leaving the ballpark. Anthony, who is worth grabbing in all formats, should be available off the bench.

That’s how you give the WooSox faithful at Polar Park something to remember for years to come. The legend continues to grow as Anthony’s latest gargantuan blast to right-center field carried a stratospheric 115.6 mph exit velocity. It’s the longest home run tracked by Statcast at any level in baseball this season, per MLB.com’s Allison Mast. It was also his 10th round-tripper of the year. It’s mystifying what the Red Sox are doing at this juncture since Anthony is certainly capable of providing an offensive spark, even in his first exposure to the big leagues. There’s been zero indication that a call-up is imminent, but fantasy managers should anticipate Anthony arriving at Fenway Park at some point soon. There’s nothing left for him to prove in the minors.
