Carroll hit a double in the ninth to score a pair that had an exit velocity of 111.7 mph off his left-handed bat. The 24-year-old has been outstanding — outstanding probably undersells it — to open 2025 with a .322/.412/.695 slash. To say that he’s off to a better start to his campaign than 2024 is the understatement of understatements.

Feinsand acknowledges that Arizona is still in the playoff hunt, but with Corbin Burnes and Justin Martinez out for the season, it may be hard for them to remain in the mix. Naylor smacked a one-out single off of Chris Bassitt in the fourth inning and came around to score the Diamondbacks’ first run on a two-out RBI single by Pavin Smith. The 27-year-old first baseman then delivered a run-scoring double in the fifth that gave the Snakes a 3-2 advantage. With his two-hit attack, Naylor is now hitting .302/.356/.474 with nine homers, 49 RBI and nine stolen bases in what has been a terrific all-around season thus far.
