Carroll hit one of four homers in the game for the D-backs in the ninth inning to give Arizona an 8-2 lead. The 24-year-old also struck out four times, and his .250 average is a little on the disappointing side. His 21 homers have definitely helped compensate for that ‘low’ average.

After giving up 12 hits and nine runs against the Royals on Friday, Rodriguez was better, but to say that’s faint praise is an understatement. He allowed eight hits — two of those were homers — and he walked a pair with three strikeouts. Rodriguez now has an unsightly 5.94 ERA on the season, and the 32-year-old offers more fantasy risk than upside at this stage of the campaign.

Perdomo turned a 2-0 game into a 6-0 lead with one swing of the bat. It was one of three homers that Arizona was able to hit in the game against Dylan Cease, and it was the 10th roundtripper of the year for Perdomo while bumping his RBI total to 64. Perdomo has shown flashes of fantasy brilliance in 2024, and there’s plenty of reason to think he’ll be a solid — if maybe unspectacular — option for the final 70-plus games.

Nothing has changed in the prognosis for the 25-year-old slugger, this was done as a procedural move to free up a spot on the team’s 40-man roster for the addition of Brice Matthews on Friday. Dezenzo is currently pain free as he continues to recover from a capsule sprain in his left hand. He has yet to resume hitting yet and will require a minor league rehab assignment once he’s ready for live action. He now won’t be eligible to rejoin the Astros until early August.

Anthony will get the first game of the series against Tampa Bay off even with right-hander Drew Rasmussen on the mound. He’ll sit with Wilyer Abreu playing right field and and Masataka Yoshida the designated hitter.

All three were pretty legitimate, too, though the third one should have been played better. Baddoo had just one triple in 64 games this season prior to last night. In case you’re curious, there have been four three-triple games in the majors since 2000, with Rafael Furcal (2002), Denard Span (2010), Yasiel Puig (2014) and Xavier Edwards (2024) pulling off the feat.
