Festa gave up 12 hits, walked three and struck out three. The 25-year-old right-hander followed opener Danny Coulombe, who allowed one run in the first inning. Festa allowed eight runs before he was finally removed in the sixth inning. His 96 pitches helped save some bullpen usage, though the Twins still ended up using five relief pitchers if you include Coulombe. That doesn’t do much for fantasy managers hoping Festa would turn his season around as his ERA is now up to 6.39 on the year. He’s best left on fantasy benches next weekend against the Tigers on the road.

It sounds like a precautionary move since Castro was in Sunday’s original lineup. The versatile 28-year-old will presumably undergo further evaluation to determine the appropriate level of concern regarding the issue. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. It’ll be rookie DaShawn Keirsey Jr. taking over in left field on Sunday afternoon in his absence.
