Suárez went 6 1/2 seasons in between grand slams before breaking the drought last August. He wound up hitting two in 10 days then, and now he has three in just eight at-bats with the bases loaded this season. He also singled twice today for his third three-hit game of the year.

Alexander spent much of last season with the Diamondbacks as a 25-year-old rookie, but he opened this year on the shelf with a strained oblique and has been left in Triple-A since returning in April. Perhaps he’ll get a chance in Ildemaro Vargas’s spot if he stays hot. He’s 11-for-31 with four steals this month, and he’s at .272/.400/.456 with six homers and nine steals in 45 games overall.

He allowed six hits, walked one and struck out five. Rodriguez has been effective in both starts since returning from shoulder inflammation, though not in a way that inspires a ton of confidence. It’s best to leave him in the free agent pool ahead of his next start against the Blue Jays.

With Justin Martínez back on the injured list, Miller figures to get most of the save chances in Arizona. Maybe Kevin Ginkel could overtake him at some point, but he definitely has a lot of work to do first.

Burns averaged 97.1 mph with his fastball in his first Triple-A start, topping out at 98.6 mph, and the 29 sliders he threw produced six whiffs and nine called strikes. The 2024 first-round pick figures to make his MLB debut at some point this season.

Candelario, returning from a back strain, has now played in 10 rehab games, and while he went 3-for-6 with two doubles in the two games in Rookie ball, he’s 6-for-30 with one extra-base hit and a 10/2 K/BB in eight games since moving up to Louisville. He’s just not making much of a case for a significant role in the Reds infield, but he’ll have to be activated in the near future, which could lead to Connor Joe being demoted or Garrett Hampson being DFA’d.

He did not have an update on the severity of the injury, only saying that the club would know more on Friday. Fantasy managers should be sure to have an alternative option ready for the weekend in the event that Paredes is unable to give it a go.
