    Injury

Jake Burger (quad) is not in the lineup for Saturday’s game against the Atros.

Burger is out after leaving Friday’s game against the Astros with discomfort in his left quad. It seems likely that the 29-year-old will also get Sunday off with a chance for Burger to get healthy through the break. Ezequiel Duran is at first base and hitting ninth.

    Injury

Jake Burger was removed from Friday night’s game against the Astros with left quad discomfort.

The 29-year-old slugger sustained the injury while trying to beat out a double play ball. Fortunately, he told reporters after the game that it wasn’t a big deal and that he believes he can play on Saturday. Be sure to check lineups to be sure before Saturday’s game, but it sounds like there’s nothing to worry about here.

    Recap

Byron Buxton went 5-for-5 and hit for the cycle Saturday as the Twins trounced the Pirates 12-3.

Buxton probably would have been lifted earlier if he didn’t only need the cycle for the homer. He had everything else by the end of the third inning. He then hit a line drive single in the fifth, and he got the homer, a 427-foot blast off Andrew Heaney, in the seventh. He departed after that. Buxton is hitting .286/.350/.571 with 21 homers and 17 steals this season. He’s seventh in the majors in OPS and tied for ninth in runs scored, even though he’s played 15 fewer games than everyone else in the top 10.

Cardinals SS prospect JJ Wetherholt is at DH and leading off for the National League in the 2025 MLB All-Star Futures Game.

Wetherholt — who was promoted to Triple-A Memphis earlier this week — headlines a senior circuit lineup that includes rising fantasy sensation Konnor Griffin, who has emerged as arguably the top prospect in the entire dynasty landscape during his professional debut. It also features Dodgers burgeoning sluggers Zyhir Hope and Josue De Paula in addition to Brewers phenom Jesús Made, who has cemented his status as a top-10 dynasty prospect in the game. Here’s the full lineup: Wetherholt (DH), Griffin (SS), Owen Caissie (RF), Charlie Condon (1B), Hope (CF), Made (2B), De Paula (LF), LuJames Groover (3B), Joe Mack (C) and JR Ritchie (P).
