Giants placed 1B/OF Jerar Encarnacion on the 10-day injured list with a left oblique strain.

Encarnacion’s path to playing time has seemingly dried up with Rafael Devers taking over at DH in San Francisco. The 27-year-old all-or-nothing slugger is hitting .136 (3-for-22) in eight games since returning from the injured list. He figures to miss at least a couple weeks and could wind up staying in Triple-A once his rehab assignment is completed.
