Bader greatly exceeded expectations offensively over the first two months of the season, but regression seems to have set in now; he’s hitting .171/.250/.314 with 16 strikeouts in 40 plate appearances during June. Assuming that Byron Buxton is fine, Bader is probably in line to do more sitting against righties until he heats back up.

The Astros scratched out a run against Duran with a leadoff walk, a steal, a soft infield single and a sac fly. Even the walk was suspect, as both ball three and four could have been called strikes. Duran, who also gave up a run and took a loss Saturday, didn’t do much wrong in this one.

Buxton was in Sunday’s original lineup after suffering a left elbow contusion when he was hit by a pitch during Saturday’s game. It sounds like a precautionary decision to give him some extra rest. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Arozarena worked Luis Ortiz for a walk to open the second inning and scored the game’s first run on an RB single off the bat of Miles Mastrobuoni. He walked again in the third inning and swiped second base but was left stranded there. The 30-year-old outfielder also walked in the fifth inning, stole second base and scored the M’s final run on an RBI single by Mitch Garver. Despite the poor batting average, he has done a nice job overall at the dish this season, slashing .231/357/.393 with eight homers, 28 RBI and 14 stolen bases.

Dubón’s shot to the wall in left-center could have been caught by Willi Castro, but it went off his glove as he attempted a jumping catch. It went as a single, but it would have been a double and Dubón’s first extra-base hit in nearly three weeks under normal circumstances. Dubón is 2-for-26 as a part-timer this month, though he’s started three straight games with Isaac Paredes hurt.

Happ helped to get the scoring started for the Cubs as he worked a leadoff walk to begin the first inning, swiped second base and scored on a ground out off the bat of Seiya Suzuki. He then played the role of hero in the 10th, smacking a David Bednar offering into right field to plate Vidal Brujan from third base with the game-winning run. The 30-year-old outfielder is now hitting .249/.340/.385 with seven long balls, 31 RBI and four stolen bases on the season.
