Leiter was pulled at 88 pitches after walking Oneil Cruz to open the fifth inning, and then the bullpen allowed the floodgates to open. Still, this was a matchup that Leiter should have dominated, and he simply couldn’t command the baseball. He had just nine called strikes and a 23 percent CSW on the day with a 49 percent zone rate. The sinker was a huge pitch earlier in the year for him because he can command it for a strike, but it also led to some blister issues, and he threw just five of them total today. At this stage, it’s hard to roster Leiter outside of the deepest formats, and we would not feel good about starting him next week against Seattle.

Haggerty has been playing regularly for the Rangers and will likely continue to do so with Jake Burger sidelined and Josh Smith playing more first base. The 31-year-old is slashing .280/.350/.441 with two home runs and five steals on the season. He could be a short-term add in deeper formats.

Eovaldi will skip a rehab assignment entirely and jump back into Texas’ rotation mix after making it through Saturday’s live batting practice session without any issues or setbacks. The 35-year-old veteran will likely have some workload limitation from a pitch count standpoint in his return outing, but it’s a boost for fantasy managers that he’s coming back. He’s been out since late May working his way back from triceps fatigue.

Langford is back patrolling center field and batting second following a brief two-game absence due to back stiffness. It’s a positive development for fantasy managers that the 23-year-old power/speed combo threat is feeling well enough to get back into action on Sunday afternoon since back issues tend to be complicated matters that tend to linger.
