Holliday needed this one. The 21-year-old is having a strong season, but also came into the day hitting .223/.273/.331 in 30 games since June 1st with 38 strikeouts and nine walks. He’s up to 11 home runs on the season with 36 RBI and a .260 average, so the season itself has been great, but there will be some bumps along the way for a player who is so young. Perhaps this is a sign that he’s coming out of his cold spell.

Felix Bautista had pitched in each of the last two games, so it was Domínguez who was given a chance to lock down the save on Sunday. He was given a two-run lead and did allow two hits, including a solo home run to Sean Murphy, but he did enough to claim his second save of the season. There is not a closer competition in Baltimore.

Rogers gave up just two hits while posting a 32 percent whiff rate and 34 percent CSW on the day. His fastball velocity was down to 92.4 mph today, which is one mph down from what we had seen in his previous starts against the Rangers, and that feels important. He showed good command with the rest of the arsenal, and his slider ate up left-handed hitters today. This is not the same version of Rogers that we saw in the last two seasons; however, it’s not likely to be the same version we saw back in his breakout 2021 because the secondaries remain inconsistent. Still, he is worth rostering in most league types, especially with a matchup against the Marlins on deck.

Domínguez has been unavailable the past two days after sleeping wrong, which has led to back soreness. Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino told reporters they’re hoping to have him available for Sunday’s showdown against Atlanta.

Story is now up to 14 home runs and 53 RBI on the season. After there were some calls to designate him for assignment earlier in the season to make room for Marcelo Mayer, Story has been red hot in Boston. Over his last 35 games, he’s hitting .301/.336/.519 with eight home runs, 23 runs scored, 32 RBI, and five steals. That’s valuable in all league types.

The home run was Sweeney’s fifth of the season. The 25-year-old shortstop hit a go-ahead three-run home run in extra-innings off Cade Smith. It was the first home run that came on a fastball in Sweeney’s big league career. Sweeney was recalled from the minor leagues when Kerry Carpenter (hamstring) hit the injured list, but he’s more of a bench option for the Tigers and waiver wire fodder for fantasy managers.

The 27-year-old has bounced back really nicely in 2025, making clear changes to his approach at the plate. He’s chasing less and forcing pitchers to attack him in the strike zone. When they do, he’s turning on the ball more than he has in years. That has allowed him to put up 14 home runs and 51 RBI before the All-Star break. Kudos to him for making the adjustments and to the fantasy managers who bought in on the bounceback.
