Pitching for his third team this year after being claimed off waivers from the Twins yesterday, Wentz, who was drafted 40th overall by the Braves nine years ago, had one of the better outings of his career after coming into a 3-3 game in the third today. He actually matched his strikeout total from a Twins tenure in which he gave up 14 runs and walked nine in eight innings. The Braves are very short in the rotation at the moment, so they might continue to stretch Wentz out.

Ozuna, who didn’t play Friday, has two homers in three games after going 21 games without one. It doesn’t seem like his hip is going to allow him to be his usual self during the second half, but the four days off will probably do him some good.

Iglesias was pitching for a third straight day, but the result was the same anyway; he’s faced nine batters since Thursday and retired all of them. In fact, he hasn’t given up a hit in five appearances or a run in 14. He’s probably back as the Braves’ sole closer now, though he’s a prime candidate to go if the team decides to sell at the deadline.

It’s the first time Acuña has been moved out of the leadoff spot since making his season debut back in late May. The move might lead to a decrease in stolen base opportunities, if it becomes permanent, but that would be offset by an uptick in RBI chances over the final two-plus months. It’ll be Jurickson Profar leading off on Saturday afternoon at Busch Stadium.
