Soler started each of the first three games following his return from the injured list, so they’ll give him a breather as they ease him back into a full-time workload. Gustavo Campero will start in his place in right field and bat eighth against Eric Lauer and the Blue Jays on Friday evening in Toronto.

Neto led off the game with a single off of Bryce Elder, swiped second base and scored the game’s first run on an RBI knock off the bat of Jo Adell. He then smacked a two-out double in the second inning and rode home on Nolan Schanuel’s two-run blast. Neto then did some yardwork of his own in the fourth, launching a 1-0 sinker from Elder for a 408-foot (104.9 mph EV) solo shot that extended the Halos’ lead to 4-0. With his three-hit attack, the 24-year-old shortstop is slashing a healthy .270/.311/.487 with 13 homers, 30 RBI and 14 stolen bases on the season.

Schanuel belted a two-out, 415-foot two-run shot off of Bryce Elder in the second inning that extended the Angels’ early lead to 3-0 and proved to be the difference in the ballgame. He also drew a walk in the ballgame, finishing the day 1-for-4. On the season, the 23-year-old first baseman is slashing a respectable .273/.366/.411 to go with eight long balls and 34 RBI.

The first game of the Subway Series in Citi Field went much differently for Soto than back in May when these two teams met in Yankee Stadium. His Mets fell behind 2-0 after the top of the first and he responded with a two-run homer of his own in the bottom of the frame. It was a huge moment and he followed it up with a double in his next at-bat before Pete Alonso drove him in for what at the time was a go-ahead run. Soto singled again later on, falling just a triple short of the cycle. He even hit another ball to the warning track in his final plate appearance. After a ‘cold’ start to the season, he now has 21 home runs and a .915 OPS that continues to climb.

As expected, O’Neill is ready to go to begin a three-game series against Atlanta. The 30-year-old ended up missing six weeks with his shoulder issue, and has not been effective in his first season in Baltimore. There’s time for that to change, and fantasy managers have seen what O’Neill is capable of when healthy and “locked in.”

The 24-year-old superstar has been saying that he plans to return before the All-Star break, and the fact that he’s already back in live game action puts him on a path to accomplish that goal. The assumption is that he’ll at least remain there through the weekend, but we’re not putting anything past Carroll at this point.
