Altuve was also caught stealing for the sixth time, if you’re looking for a negative. His two homers were among the five that Houston hit in the shellacking, and he also doubled. In addition, he drew two walks while scoring a total of four runs. Probably best to not focus on that caught stealing, in our humble estimation. Altuve is now slashing .269/.331/.443 with 15 homers and 44 RBI.

McCullers told reporters after firing six innings of one-run ball on Friday evening at Dodger Stadium that his left foot “went numb for a little while” after being struck by a line drive from Shohei Ohtani, but added that he managed to avoid serious injury. The 31-year-old should be ready to make his next start on Wednesday against the Guardians.

Trent Grisham is in the leadoff spot on Saturday afternoon, but Domínguez figures to continue getting chances atop New York’s lineup after going 2-for-4 with two homers and a stolen base out of the top spot during Friday’s contest at Citi Field. The 22-year-old former top prospect has legitimately been one of the hottest hitters in baseball recently, hitting .400 (12-for-30) with two homers, six RBI and two steals over his last seven games.

Bader ended this game on the first pitch of the ninth inning after jumping all over a first-pitch fastball from Kevin Kelly. He did the same to open the scoring in the fourth, also with a solo home run against a first pitch sinker from Zack Littell. Once again an everyday player – mostly due to his great defense – Bader is now up to 10 home runs and seven stolen bases on the season as a steady albeit boring contributor.
