The Guardians matched their run scoring output from their past five games tonight and scored seven runs for the first time since coming up with 11 on June 11. The homer gave Ramírez his first three-RBI day since May 14. He’s halfway to his fourth 30-homer season, though he’ll need to pick up the pace a tad. Otherwise, he might finish with exactly 29 for the third time in his career.

The 23-year-old Brito, who has already missed eight weeks this season with a torn thumb ligament, is hitting .256/.357/.463 in 24 games for Columbus. There’s a good chance he’d be the Guardians’ second baseman right now if he could have remained healthy since the start of the season.

All of the runs came in the fifth on 368- and 373-foot homers from Taylor Trammell and Isaac Paredes. Bibee actually had a no-hitter going through four, though it wasn’t shaping up as a particularly long outing for him anyway. He should bounce back against the White Sox on Saturday.

Clase is off the All-Star team for now, and unless something changes there, his streak of appearances will end at three. It’s probably not the worst thing for him, as he could use a break while being on pace to throw 70 innings yet again; he averaged 72 1/3 innings the last four years.

Arenado will sit out his third consecutive contest on Tuesday night due to a right shoulder impingement. There hasn’t been a ton of clarity regarding the severity of the issue, but there’s little benefit for St. Louis to rush him back too quickly and risk a setback. It’ll be Nolan Gorman handling the hot corner on Tuesday night at Busch Stadium.

Bregman added that he’s skipping next week’s Midsummer Classic in an effort to be ready to play in games for the Red Sox. The 31-year-old added that he’s hoping to return later this week before the All-Star break, but plans to be ready right afterwards if that doesn’t happen. It’s a significant development for the suddenly red-hot Red Sox, who have won seven of their last nine games following Monday’s slugfest victory over the Rockies at Fenway Park.

Cora didn’t offer any specifics on Monday while speaking to reporters, but added that Bregman would be back “sooner rather than later.” The 31-year-old third baseman, who has been out since late May recovering from a quad strain, is going through his usual pre-game workout at Fenway Park and it sounds like there’s optimism he’ll return at some point later this week. There should be a more definitive update in the coming days, but this is certainly a positive development.
