It was his only hit in five at-bats, though he did have two other hard-hit balls. There’s been no quick turnaround for Campbell in Triple-A, as he’s thus far hit .200/.389/.345 with 23 strikeouts in 72 plate appearances. He’s started at first base eight times and at second base five times while in the minors.

Bregman made an instant impact for Boston in his first game action in nearly six weeks. The 31-year-old third baseman’s return coincides with an extended hot streak for the Red Sox, who no longer look like potential sellers at the upcoming trade deadline.

Rafaela deserves more attention for what he’s doing right now. He jumped all over a 1-2 slider at his knees from Pete Fairbanks for a walk-off home run to send his Red Sox to victory. It was a shot too: traveling 406 feet, clearing the Green Monster, and winding up on the street behind the park. That came after Rafaela hit a two-out, game-tying single in the second inning just after Red Sox starter Hunter Dobbins had to leave this game due to injury. He’s been one of the hottest hitters in baseball lately with four homers in his last seven games. In fact, he’s taken legitmate strides forward as a player this season with an incredible .985 OPS over his last 30 games. His athleticism is shining through both in center field, where he’s incredible on defense, and at the plate, where something has clicked and allowed him to pull the lion’s share of his fly balls. This could be the blossoming of a special player in Boston.

Dobbins sustained the injury while covering first base on a ground ball to the right side of the infield in the second inning. He’ll head for further evaluation. The 25-year-old hurler wound up allowing one run on two hits and a walk while striking out a pair in his first start back off of the injured list.

Westburg has been on fire of late. His first inning single – that he scorched 109.9 mph – helped start a rally off Marlins’ starter Edward Cabrera. He was eventually involved in two other rallies scoring three runs in total and being an engine out of the two-hole for Baltimore. He’s now had multiple hits in three of his last six games and took what was a .657 OPS when he returned from his hamstring injury a month ago up to .807 after this game.

The 26-year-old infielder has been doing treatment for his injured left ankle, but it sounds like this is going to end up being a long-term issue. As of now there’s still no clear timeline for a potential return to the Jays’ active roster.

There haven’t been any rumblings about a return trip to the injured list for the 29-year-old infielder, and if it hasn’t happened by now it probably isn’t going to before the All-Star break. Kyle Farmer will start in his place at second base and will bat eighth for the Rockies against Reds’ rookie right-hander Chase Burns on Friday evening in Cincinnati.
