Tanner Bibee allowed three runs — two earned — and three hits over six innings Thursday in a loss to the Blue Jays.

All three runs scored in a third inning that opened with a soft flyball single and featured two HBPs, three Kyle Manzardo errors and a wild pitch. Outside of that inning, Bibee allowed just one hit and no walks. Bibee fell to 1-6 over his last nine starts, even though he has a 3.49 ERA and a 54/10 K/BB over that span. He’s set to face the Cubs next.

Carlos Santana went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts against the Blue Jays in Thursday’s loss.

Santana had a terrific final two weeks of May, but that’s really the only thing keeping his stat line afloat. He’s come in at .169/.220/.260 with an unusually poor 20/5 K/BB ratio in 82 plate appearances this month. He had a 37/30 K/BB in 220 plate appearances over the first two months.

Shohei Ohtani will make his next start Saturday against the Royals.

Maybe two innings this time? Ben Casparius will likely again follow Ohtani. The Dodgers haven’t announced their Sunday starter, but it seems likely that they’ll go with an opener and then use Justin Wrobleski as a bulk guy.

Royce Lewis, out since June 13 with a strained hamstring, is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday.

Lewis will DH in at least his first game. If all goes well, one imagines he’ll be activated Tuesday for the series opener against the Marlins.

Cooper Hummel is starting in left field and batting eighth against the Phillies on Thursday.

Hummel has started five of the last eight games for the Astros, including four of the last five. However, he’s also just 3-for-14 with one home run, two runs scored and one RBI in those last five games, so he remains off fantasy radars.
