Other than that, it was a pretty quiet day. Tucker’s second game against his long-time employer was a spectacular one, and featured a three-run blast off a wholly ineffective Lance McCullers Jr. in the fourth to give the Astros a 7-2 lead. His stolen base is his 20th, while that roundtripper brings his season total to 17. Time will tell who ‘wins’ the trade between these two teams, but right now, the Cubs have one of the best players in the sport who is now hitting .291/.396..537 in his first (possibly final) season with the Cubs.

The 30-year-old slugger tagged Guardians’ right-hander Gavin Williams for a 378-foot (104.4 mph EV) solo shot that increased the Cubs’ lead to 4-2. That would be his only hit in four at-bats on the night. Suzuki is enjoying another solid season in the middle of the Cubs’ lineup, slashing .258/.312/.546 with 23 home runs and a whopping 70 RBI.

The 25-year-old hurler made it look easy in this one, getting Carlos Santana on a fly ball to right before striking out Lane Thomas and Nolan Jones in succession on swinging third strikes to end the ballgame. Palencia has been a major weapon out of the Cubs’ bullpen this season, registering a 1.80 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and a 35/10 K/BB ratio over 30 innings while converting nine of his first 10 save chances.

The 32-year-old slugger got the scoring started in the ballgame with a two-run knock off of Brandon Young in the third inning. He then doubled with two outs in the fifth inning and rode home on Alejandro Osuna’s two-run blast. García also smacked another two-run single into left field in the sixth that extended the Rangers’ lead to 7-2. While he has picked up the pace offensively, he’s still slashing an underwhelming .231/.276/.395 with 10 homers, 49 RBI and eight stolen bases on the season.

The Angels scored a run on an RBI double by Jo Adell in the top half of the eighth inning to take a 1-0 lead then Soler followed with a two-run double that seemingly put the game out of reach at that stage. A fun night for Soler to victimize his former ballclub in his first game back off the injured list. On the season, the 33-year-old slugger is slashing an underwhelming .209/.287/.356 with eight long balls and 28 RBI.

As a team, the Braves were only able to muster six total hits against Tyler Anderson and company in what was a brutal offensive performance. The 27-year-old superstar outfielder whiffed three times against Tyler Anderson and also took a called third strike against Jose Fermin in the seventh inning. Even with the rough night, he’s still slashing an outstanding .350/.467/.610 with nine homers, 18 RBI and four stolen bases in his first 35 games.
