Outside of that, it was a dominant return from the injured list for Gilbert; one where he initiated a whopping 21 swings-and-misses over just 84 pitches. Gilbert is one of the best pitchers in the sport, and he’ll look to build on this impressive outing when he squares off with the Cubs on Sunday in Chicago.

He’ll report to Triple-A Tacoma. Hurtubise, 27, hasn’t hit during his time in the majors, coming in at .167/.291/.212 in 83 plate appearances, but he offers a stellar walk rate, stolen base ability and solid defense in the outfield corners. He’s a lifetime .270/.416/.337 hitter in Triple-A.

Gilbert returns from the first-ever injured list stint of his career to take the ball for Monday’s series opener against a new-look Red Sox lineup without slugger Rafael Devers. The 28-year-old fantasy ace wound up missing just over seven weeks with a flexor strain in his right elbow. He shouldn’t have any significant restrictions from a workload or pitch count standpoint after throwing 72 pitches last week in his final rehab outing for Triple-A Tacoma.
