Handley was inadvertently knocked completely off his feet on a scary-looking collision with Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. while attempting to field an errant throw up the third-base line during the early stages of Sunday’s game. He’ll be evaluated for a possible concussion in addition to other potential injuries. There should be an update on his status ahead of Monday’s series opener against the Rangers. It’s worth noting that Samuel Basallo wasn’t scratched from Sunday’s lineup at Triple-A Norfolk and is unlikely to be called up as temporary stopgap, despite injuries to both Handley and Adley Rutschman (oblique).

Focusing more on his splitter than his cutter of late, Kremer has posted a nice 3.15 ERA in his last six starts, lowering his season mark from 5.50 to 4.60. We still wouldn’t recommend picking him up in mixed leagues, but at least he’s contributing in AL-only leagues now. He’ll face the Rays again next time out. He just held them to one run over five innings on Tuesday.

Handley was led up the third-base line to field an off-target throw to the plate, which took him directly into the path of an oncoming Chisholm, resulting in a scary-looking collision. The 27-year-old backstop was clearly shaken up on the play and left with an athletic trainer. He’ll undoubtedly undergo further evaluation and testing for a possible concussion. There should be an update on his status following the contest. It’s an unfortunate development for the Orioles since Handley had just returned to the majors to replace an injured Adley Rutschman. It’s too soon to speculate, but the club would likely have to find some emergency catching depth or consider calling up top prospect Samuel Basallo if Handley winds up missing sigificant time.

Orioles interim manager Tony Mansolino told reporters Westburg has been diagnosed with a left index finger sprain and could return to the lineup in two or three days. The positive news here is that X-rays came back negative for any fractures after Westburg jammed his finger on the second-base bag during Saturday’s contest at Yankee Stadium. He’s still sore and can’t fully grip a bat, so fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him back until some point during the club’s next series against the Rangers, which gets underway on Monday night.

Baldwin came into the day just 9-for-41 (.220) in June, so this was a positive step. The rookie has been solid for most of the season and could see an uptick in playing time later in the summer since Sean Murphy’s name has come up in numerous trade rumors with the Braves six games under .500 and now without Chris Sale.

Sengers returns to the big leagues to serve as the primary caddy to starter Luis Torrens in the wake of the Mets’ decision to option Francisco Alvarez to Triple-A. The 28-year-old backstop can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.

The writing has been on the wall for a couple weeks now as the Mets finally decided to ship Alvarez to the minors in an apparent effort to hit the reset button and give him a chance to iron things out after struggling to a .236/.319/.333 slash line with just three homers in 138 plate appearances over 35 games. The far greater concern for the 23-year-old former top prospect is that he’s gone from being a near-elite defender when he broke into the majors to merely league-average behind the dish over the last two seasons. Luis Torrens will take over as New York’s primary catcher with Hayden Senger coming up in a backup role.
