Kranick is officially up as the replacement for Kodai Senga (hamstring). The right-hander has been solid as a middle-relief option for the Mets when called upon with a 3.51 ERA and 23/3 K/BB ratio over 33 1/3 innings.

All things considered, that’s the best possible news that the Mets could have heard following Senga’s evaluation. He’ll rest for a couple of weeks before being reassessed. It sounds like if everything goes according to plan, he should be able to rejoin the Mets’ rotation before the All-Star break.

Marte has turned his season around in a big way. He has a .960 OPS over his last 15 games and has worked his way back into a nearly full-time role at designated hitter for the Mets since Mark Vientos went out with a hamstring injury. Sadly, as he’s now 36 years old, he’s no longer anything close to the prolific base stealer he once was with four on the season.
