The Angels scored a run on an RBI double by Jo Adell in the top half of the eighth inning to take a 1-0 lead then Soler followed with a two-run double that seemingly put the game out of reach at that stage. A fun night for Soler to victimize his former ballclub in his first game back off the injured list. On the season, the 33-year-old slugger is slashing an underwhelming .209/.287/.356 with eight long balls and 28 RBI.

The 35-year-old southpaw matched his season-high with seven punchouts in the ballgame while walking a pair of batters. He and Braves’ right-hander Grant Holmes traded zeroes for six innings in this one, with neither team able to scratch out a run. The best chance against Anderson came in the opening inning as the Braves put two runners in scoring position with two outs, but Anderson punched out Drake Baldwin to end the threat. Anderson got 15 whiffs on 87 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 34 percent. He’ll attempt to keep the good times rolling as he totes a 4.12 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and a 77/35 K/BB ratio (91 2/3 innings) into Sunday’s matchup against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

Raleigh takes a seat for just the third time this season as Seattle attempts to manage his workload amid an extended stretch without any off days built into the schedule. It’ll be Mitch Garver handling the catching duties with Jorge Polanco at DH on Wednesday night. The 28-year-old slugging backstop has put together arguably the greatest first-half performance by a catcher in fantasy baseball history with a major league-leading 33 home runs, 71 RBI and nine stolen bases through 84 games. He’s definitely earned a break.

It’s merely a procedural move since Alvarez has already missed two months due to a chip fracture in his right hand. The 28-year-old slugger is eligible to be activated at any point in the future. However, that won’t be any time soon since he was shut down on Monday after experiencing renewed hand soreness while taking dry swings. He’s scheduled visit a specialist later this week to determine the next steps in his recovery process. The hope for fantasy managers at this juncture is that he doesn’t wind up needing surgery, which would likely be season-ending.
