Don’t look now, but Trout tied the major league lead with this blast. At the time, it pulled the Angels to a 1-1 tie early in this game before the Astros unleashed their wrath on Jack Kochanowicz and the Angels bullpen. Nevertheless, it’s amazing to see Trout healthy and mashing for the time being. Fingers crossed he can stay on the field and we get one more vintage season from Trout.

A double, walk, and a groundout brought a run in to score for the Orioles in the first inning against Anderson. Baltimore brought two more runs home in the third inning on three singles. After walking a batter to lead off the fifth, Cedric Mullins and Gary Sánchez would go back-to-back with home runs, knocking Anderson from the game. The 35-year-old left-hander will take a 4.44 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and a 61/29 K/BB ratio across 75 innings into a start against the Yankees in New York on Thursday.

O’Hearn will get another day off after being scratched from Saturday’s lineup with left ankle soreness. It’ll be Gunnar Henderson getting a break from the field with a turn at DH on Sunday afternoon in his place.

The move is now official. Lewis simply can’t catch a break from an injury standpoint. He’s been plagued by persistent physical issues since breaking into the majors back in 2022 and heads back to the injured list for the second time this season for a hamstring-related strain. The positive news is that he’s dealing with a relatively mild hamstring strain this time around, which doesn’t figure to require a lengthy absence.

It was 11-0 until; the ninth, when the Dodgers tried to save a little wear on their pitchers by putting in Enrique Hernández for the final inning. Hernández, though, gave up a grand slam and five runs while getting two outs, and Anthony Banda ended up finishing the game. Ohtani has 25 homers this year, leaving him one behind Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh for the MLB lead. He’s up to 250 career homers in 929 games since debuting in 2018.
