The St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Derrick Goold adds that Arenado is considered day-to-day, according to a team official. It’s a situation fantasy managers will need to monitor closely for the remainder of the weekend. The 34-year-old third baseman has also been playing through a right index finger sprain the past few days, so the extra time off can only help. It’ll be rookie Thomas Saggese taking over at the hot corner on Saturday afternoon against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

The Cardinals scored five times off Brad Keller in the eighth, with Pozo delivering the big blow after hitting for Pedro Pagés. Pozo is batting .329/.333/.506 with three homers in 81 plate appearances since being called up Apr. 7. The Cardinals love Pagés’ defense too much to make a switch behind the plate, but at least they’ve been willing to make the late-game change when they need offense.

Liberatore walked four, but he mostly got away with it, as just two of the 15 balls in play against him were hard-hit. One of those was a wind-aided homer from Michael Busch. Liberatore has allowed a total of six runs over his last four starts, lowering his ERA from 4.17 to 3.70. He’ll likely face the Braves on Friday.

Williamson smashed a double to right-center with two outs to score Jorge Polanco and give Seattle a 1-0 lead. It’d be the last run for either team. Williamson has helped the Mariners immensely with the glove and his .256 average isn’t horrible, but there’s just no power in his bat as seen in his .318 slugging percentage.
