The 28-year-old backstop had been on the team’s taxi squad, so he jumped to the active roster for the first game of Thursday’s doubleheader after Bryan Baker was traded to the Rays. That’s all the time it took them to get Colin Selby up from Triple-A though, so Bañuelos will head back without having appeared in that one ballgame. He’ll continue to function as extra catching depth for the O’s.

The All-Star break is just next week, so it sounds like Marte should be able to rejoin the Mets before the end of July.
