Rivera was just designated for assignment and sent outright to Triple-A Norfolk in mid-June, but he’ll return as the Orioles are in need of extra infield depth with Jordan Westburg (finger) banged up. Rivera has hit just .232/.303/.275 with no home runs, three RBI and a 12/6 K/BB ratio in 76 plate appearances with the O’s this season.

Eflin allowed four runs on five hits in just one inning of work before giving way to Scott Blewett. The 31-year-old right-hander is in danger of missing his next scheduled start against Atlanta on Friday, but he’ll likely undergo testing to determine the severity of the injury.

Orioles’ manager Tony Mansolino told reporters on Saturday that Westburg wasn’t a candidate to head to the injured list, but that he’ll probably be out a “couple of days”. He also noted that this finger injury isn’t as bad as the one Westburg experienced last time. Either way, fantasy managers shouldn’t expect him to return until early next week.

The Orioles needed to clear a spot on their 40-man roster for Emmanuel Rivera on Saturday and Tyler drew the short straw this time around. There’s a chance that the 28-year-old right-hander will once again garner interest on waivers.

Naylor was removed from Friday night’s contest against the Diamondbacks due to stiffness in his neck. While it doesn’t sound like it’ll require a trip to the injured list, the Diamondbacks will take a cautious approach here and keep him out for an extra day. Pavin Smith will cover first base in his stead on Saturday afternoon and will bat third for the Diamondbacks.

It sounds like a precautionary exit. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on Naylor’s status this weekend since he missed time earlier this week with right shoulder soreness. He should be considered day-to-day for now. It would likely be Pavin Smith taking over at first base if he’s unable to get back in the lineup this weekend against the Marlins.

Jays’ skipper John Schneider told reporters earlier in the day that the 26-year-old slugger was likely to return. Then a lineup was released that did not include Guerrero. Now he’s back in there as the team’s first baseman and batting third against Red Sox’ right-hander Brayan Bello. Fantasy managers should be sure to have him active for their weekend lineups.
