Bowman, 34, had been designated for assignment by the O’s on Wednesday but he passed through waivers unclaimed and will continue to function as extra bullpen depth at the Triple-A level. He posted a 5.79 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and a 17/6 K/BB ratio over 23 1/3 innings in 19 appearances out of the O’s bullpen.

The 29-year-old infielder has now been promoted to the big leagues, designated for assignment and sent outright to Triple-A Norfolk twice in the past month. He’ll continue to function as surplus infield depth for the O’s.

Westburg missed five straight games with his left index finger injury, and while he told reporters he won’t be 100 percent for a while, he’s good enough to go for the opening game against Atlanta on Friday.

As expected, O’Neill is ready to go to begin a three-game series against Atlanta. The 30-year-old ended up missing six weeks with his shoulder issue, and has not been effective in his first season in Baltimore. There’s time for that to change, and fantasy managers have seen what O’Neill is capable of when healthy and “locked in.”
